If you don’t assess you just guess.
Dr. Greg Rose, Titleist Performance Institute
It all begins with a movement baseline.
Whether you are looking to improve your performance for life, suffering from an acute injury or attempting to reactivate from a chronic condition it is critical to know just how your body has adapted to life’s stresses.
At ClinicFit we utilize the Function Movement Systems (FMS) approach to designing individualized exercise programs and treatment protocols.
Functional Movement Screen
The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a ranking and grading system that documents movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, the FMS readily identifies functional limitations and asymmetries. These are issues that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical training and distort body awareness.
From a fitness/performance perspective the FMS is designed to root out the weak-link in your movement chain. Once this weak-link or movement baseline is achieved we are presented with a strong foundation upon which truly individualized programs can be developed.
Selective Functional Movement Assessment
The Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), a revolutionary movement assessment that helps identify altered motor control and guides our clinicians on how to treat patients more effectively and efficiently.
From a rehabilitative/reactivation perspective this “patient centered model” focuses on movement dysfunction and its effect on chronic pain and musculoskeletal injuries. Our treatment philosophy is simple “stop chasing pain and focus on function”. This philosophy empowers the patient to overcome the roadblocks associated with chronic conditions or simply returning to activity following an injury. The goal is to provide patients with a unique opportunity to take an active role in their care that will ultimately transition into a more active lifestyle.
