Our clinicians utilize manual techniques to help reset your movement system creating an opportunity for reactivation with a purpose.

Active Release Techniques™

Active Release Techniques™ (ART) is a patented soft tissue management system / movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves

This technique is unique in that it addresses the functional aspects of the injured tissues. Any injury, whether acute or cumulative, can cause your body to produce tough, dense scar tissue (knots) in the affected area. This scar tissue causes muscle fibers and fascia (tissue that separates muscles) to stick together. The end result is a loss of function and an overall decrease in performance. ART works by separating these “stuck” tissues, restoring normal function and decreasing pain. ART is very effective for the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, rotator cuff, back pain, sciatica, shin splints and plantar fasciitis.

Dr. Hemsley has been full body certified in ART since 2003. Prior to opening ClinicFit he was a member of the Elite Provider Network providing corporate care for cumulative injuries.

Chiropractic

The goal of chiropractic manipulative therapy (adjustments) is to restore motion and function in the presence of joint restriction. Joint restriction can affect how our joints move and can contribute to pain, poor posture, muscle stiffness and spasm, swelling and even a decrease in overall performance. When the body is unable to overcome these restrictions by itself compensation will occur. Rest, stretching and exercise will often provide temporary relief, however if joint restriction persists, mechanical stress will shift down the chain of movement resulting in a weak link. Sometimes your body needs a little push to get it moving in the right direction. Chiropractic manipulative therapy will be performed to restore normal joint function if appropriate.
