ClinicFit represents a paradigm shift in the world of fitness and rehabilitation. The objective of ClinicFit is to provide a fitness experience unlike any other in the Portland Metropolitan area.  Integration of our assessment systems and manual therapy techniques with performance driven fitness training provides purpose to your functional training.Our goal is to create an atmosphere of sustainable fitness by focusing on movement quality instead of movement capacity.

Meet the Team


Director of Health and Performance Dr. Matthew Hemsley

Dr. Matthew Hemsley is a Chiropractic Sports Physician who specializes in fitness related injuries. With over 25 years in the industry as a strength coach, trainer and clinician, Dr. Hemsley brings a unique perspective to the treatment and management of his patients. His treatment philosophy is simple “stop chasing pain and focus on function”. This philosophy empowers his patients to overcome the roadblocks associated with chronic condition or simply returning to activity following injury.

In addition to his role as Director of Health and Performance at ClinicFit Dr. Hemsley serves as a chiropractic consultant to the Portland Trailblazers.

Massage Therapist Elena Cam 

Elena Cam is our massage therapist who comes to us from Oregon Health & Science University. She specializes in treatment based deep tissue massage and applies massage techniques including but not limited to relaxation, injury prevention, and injury treatment. Elena’s true focus is to treat each individual as a whole and she believes that ClinicFit provides the environment to do so. As a part of the ClinicFit team Elena works closely with Dr. Hemsley and our coaches Jessica and Lisa to provide treatment protocols specific to your needs.

Fitness & Nutrition Coach/Office Manager Lisa Rhoades

Lisa Rhoades was a successful paralegal for 20 years, but always had a passion for health and fitness. She has spent her life pursuing optimal health, and in 2013, she became a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Since becoming a fitness coach, she completed a Strong First kettlebell course, earned a sport and nutrition certification through Precision Nutrition, and became FMS Level 1 certified.

Lisa grew up in Los Angeles and was a high school track and field runner. She continued running throughout her life, completing multiple half-marathons. While training for a half-marathon, she developed back pain and a minor tibial stress fracture. As a patient, Lisa gained a broader understanding and appreciation for corrective and preventative exercise, which is now an integral part of her fitness approach, along with strength training. Lisa’s passion is to inspire and empower people to achieve healthy lives through fitness and lifestyle choices.

Fitness Director & Coach Jessica Baker

Jessica Baker graduated from Oregon State University with a BS in Exercise and Sports Science and an option in Physical Therapy. In 2010, she earned a Kinetic Integrations (KI) certification and became a Kinetic Integrations Exercise Professional (KIEP). As a KIEP, she trained clients with pre-existing and post injuries using the KI theories and implementing the KI modified and corrective exercise strategies. As lead trainer, she managed the trainers and trainees for the KI class and of 2011. Also in college, she volunteered for IMPACT, a program that promotes physical activity for people with disabilities aged 4-20.

Upon graduating, she worked as a Physical Therapy Technician for a year where she gained experience with using modalities and therapeutic exercises. Not shortly after working as a technician did she become a patient herself, obtaining a low back injury. Her personal struggles with pain everyday help her to understand what others may go through, and what steps are necessary in order to diminish pain and eliminate injuries. For this reason, she focuses on a safe coaching method in order to help clients move better and reach their goals without an increased risk of injury.

Jessica is FMS Level 1 Certified and has completed a Strong First kettlebell practical and instruction course. She aspires to obtain both her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification and Precision Nutrition Certification. Jessica believes that prevention is key, and if given the right tools, anyone can succeed in living a healthy and fit life.
